The Anonymous Art Show is a popular fundraising event and group exhibition we host each year in November and December. It is truly inspiring to see the talent, scope of style, diverse subject matter and mediums, including oil, acrylic, mixed media and photography created by local established and emerging artists. There are hundreds of artworks to choose from by hundreds of artists, so there is something for everyone. All works are created on unframed 8” x 8” x 1 ½” canvas or wood panel. Each peice costs $100 and the sale of each piece is divided fifty/fifty between the artist and the NVCAC. The artist remains anonymous until after the purchase.

This inclusive event is fun for artists and purchasers, and it assists the NVCAC in funding many valuable programmes, including free community events, art classes and youth programmes. It also enables the community to support emerging artists and provides an opportunity to purchase an established artist’s work at a great price.

2012: Thank you to all the artists and art lovers for making 2012 the most successful year ever! There were 738 works of art on display representing over 300 artists. On opening night, the gallery saw about 400 enthusiastic patrons, and 145 pieces were sold. By the close of the show in mid-December, a total of 246 works by 167 different artists had been purchased. Artist royalties totalled $12,650, and the North Vancouver Community Arts Council raised an additional $12,950 to help support our many community programmes, projects and events.

2011: 416 artists created 732 works of art for the show. We sold 223 works of art, representing 146 artists. We paid $10,475 to artists and raised $11,825 for North Vancouver Community Arts Council programs. For a glimpse of the festivities on opening night, take a look at our 2011 image gallery.
