Call for Photographic Artists
The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is seeking photographic artists for a themed exhibition called “Rusty Guts”- Glimpses of a Historic Shipyard! exhibition dates July 16 - August 28, 2010 at CityScape Community Art Space.

The waterfront of Lower Lonsdale is currently in the midst of rejuvenating a dilapidated shipyard to a vibrant new urban community. This historical shipyard has touched many lives on the North Shore through its pioneering and war years. This industry was the largest in Western Canada for most of the twentieth century and was integral in developing the Pacific Northwest.

This photographic exhibition is intended to host a collection of images that share and celebrate with the community the memory of this once booming shipbuilding industry in its beautiful decay and let the images tell us a story.

We invite Photographic Artists to submit photographs of the shipyard and pier that were taken after its booming days but prior to the recent redevelopment capturing only its rusty demise.

Submission must include:
• up to 8 printed photos, JPEG’s or PDF’s  images on disk, of work to be juried
• a list of work including title, exhibition size, and date photo was taken
• brief description of each image
• CV or artist biography
• a SASE if you would like your submission returned by post
• a jury fee of $10 for members and $15 for non-members

Artists whose work has been accepted must be prepared to frame their work in black or white wood or metal frames.  Emailed submissions are not accepted. Deadline for submission:  Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 4pm.
